Brief: Can you strike gold twice? Narcos is one of Netflix's all-time most popular series. So when the story of Pablo Escobar ended and headed north from South America to Mexico, it was our job to keep the momentum high for core fans to encounter new stories and new characters.
For the Narcos: Mexico premiere we tapped the biggest celebrity fans of the show we could find, the Migos, to give them a world premiere of the first episode. During this shoot, we also captured a series of other talent video concepts that I concepted and scripted.
Our content strategy was heavily researched, and took pride in how we creatively blended real facts with series drama. I had regular meetings with Ioan Grillo, one of the world's most respected crime reporters and authors. We worked hand-in-hand with Rhubarb for multiple seasons of the show's art campaign. Narcos: Mexico respected the unique culture of Mexico, placed talent personalities on display, and stuck to the grittiness of the show's roots.
